A ghost is the partial or complete manifestation of a deceased person - that would be a very simple explanation, even though that still scares the crap out of people. In all actuality - ghosts can be many things and are pretty complex when you really get down to the nitty gritty. For this post, I'd like to talk about what ghosts are and can be - not just your typical scary see-through or invisible scare.
So the definitions that we are used to as a human society is that a ghost is a deceased person or animal that hangs around the Earth plane for one or more of many reasons. A spirit is a deceased person that has crossed over - went back home if you will, and came back for a visit - mostly to check on or watch over their loved ones.
After all the years that I've spend not only researching and investigating paranormal and psychic occurrences, and also communicating within these realms, I have to conclude that there is much more than we may have previously believed going on concerning our paranormal friends. When we experience a ghostly situation, there are many things besides a typical ghost that you may have found yourself in the company of.
Besides my own experiences - I've heard so many true stories from my clients and so many other people about vivid visitations from deceased loved ones. Some experienced dreams that felt so real and when this happens, it is real - in one way or another. This will be clarified more as you read. Loved ones can enter into your dreams much easier then trying to communicate with you when you are awake or attempting to show themselves to you as that takes a lot of variables to make happen. That takes a lot of effort and energy to pull off and even then - it seems there is a certain element involved in having the perception to be able to view or observe their efforts. There does appear to be many exceptions to this as well because I've witnessed many occasions where one or a few people in the same room saw the spirit even though all of them should have had the view to witness their appearance. There are so many people who have seen their loved ones right in front of them - no mistaking it.
One thing that also seems to be a widespread characteristic of ghost and spirits is that they don't stick around for long. That is to say, when they make a full-on apparition appearance or partial manifestation, they disappear quickly. This does not mean that they have left; it just means that was the amount of time they could show themselves. This could be due to the amount of energy around them that they can utilize, their own skills in being able to manipulate that energy as well as their own energy and vibrational tuning, and in proper assessment of energy attunement of the person or people they are trying to manifest for.
There have been cases where a spectre could hold their manifestation for prolonged periods of time. There could be so many different circumstances involved with this phenomenon including but not limited to feeding off the energy of live people, cameras or technological instrument batteries and power sources, available energy in the air, nearby power lines and electronic equipment, the time of year, the weather, water sources, and even space conditions.
There are people who go through their entire lives without ever seeing a ghost or spirit - even if they live in a haunted home. There are some who experience an occurrence once or twice but simply chalk that up to coincidence or imagination. Then there are those who see them often and cannot deny their existence.
When my mom died, I was at home with my children. My husband at the time was at work. My mother had been in intensive care in a drug-induced coma so she wouldn't feel any pain as her body organs were badly damaged and shutting down. It was only a matter of time. I had been to the hospital the night before she died and I knew standing there looking at her, that would be the last time I ever saw her alive again. The nurses warned me that my mom wouldn't be able to respond to me or even know I was there due to the medication keeping her in a deep sleep. It was so horribly sad seeing her like that - trying to say my final goodbye. I spoke to her anyway. When a person is dying and it is very close to their time, they usually are more out of their body than in it. They can hear you talking to them and more than likely see you as well. It seemed as though my mom was purposely waiting to move on. She wanted to know that all of her children would be ok.
I was the last one of her children to go see her since she was admitted to intensive care. I had to wait for my sister to come watch my kids and visiting hours were very few. Only two people could be in the tiny room at one time so my husband and I finally got to go see her. I told my mom how much I love her; that I would be ok and that she could move on. I knew that is what she was waiting for. Even though I never wanted her to leave, there was no turning back for her - she couldn't come back from the state of health she was in and I just wanted her to be free and happy again. That meant getting out of our world and going home. There was no sense in her staying chained to a body that was no longer able to sustain life.
Then something very surprising and wonderful happened. Even though I knew my mom could hear my words and feel my heart, she opened her eyes. It was extremely brief and she was looking directly at me. She gave a very faint smile, then closed her eyes for the very last time. The nurse said that should have been impossible for her to do and checked on the medication dripping into her veins. The medication was fine so it wasn't because they weren't working. I knew my mom's spirit opened my mom's eyes for her and gave me that smile to let me know that she heard everything I said and to tell me she loved me too. That made me so happy although my heart was tearing to shreds.
I also noticed that my mom had one more visitor with her while I was there - it was my dad. I could see and feel that he was sitting in a chair on the opposite side of my mom's hospital bed. To my husband who was with me, the chair was empty but I knew my dad was there. My dad had been deceased for four years at that point in time but he was there waiting for her to take her back home. Almost always, a loved one who has passed on prior will come to guide home a dying family member, close friend, etc.
My mom passed away the next morning. My two sisters came to my house to tell me the news and to be with me and the kids. My husband came home shortly after my sisters arrived. He said that he knew my mom passed away and he knew she wanted him to be with me. She appeared to him as an apparition while he was at work and he knew what had happened the moment he saw her. What always puzzled me was that she appeared to my husband - a man who didn't believe in ghosts and who never had a paranormal experience until that time. Why didn't she come to me? Perhaps she thought that would have been too hard on me even though she knew I could see spirit.
I remember how my mom and I would talk about my dad - how I could see him or sense his presence and how that would make me happy. My mom never saw my dad or could feel him there so he would sometimes do things to let her know he was there but it used to freak her out so he didn't do it a lot. Mostly, I would tell her when he was there.
This post will be continued. I want to continue my story about how my dad's ghost behaved and the different types of entities or things that people think are ghosts but aren't - they are something else - even live beings.
