For those of you who are reading this post - please read the one before because this is a continuation of the last post - 'Not All Ghosts Are Out to Get You.' So was it Phillip that was standing at my bedroom door watching us sleep - you bet it was! I could see a hazy outline of a figure standing there - almost like the heat haze you see in the searing hot summer heat. I couldn't tell if it was a man, woman, boy, or girl... or if it may have been a different kind of entity, however, after being called mom several times and hearing his voice - I knew it was a boy. As the days passed by, Phillip became more and more active as well as interactive. 'Normal' ghost haunting activities would commence such as lights blinking and turning on or off by themselves, footsteps, cold air spots, strong feelings of being watched - especially very late at night when I was always up till insane hours of the morning by myself. The kids became aware of Phillip pretty fast - it couldn't be helped with his activity. One morning after feeding my son who was about 8 months old - I was rocking him to sleep in my bedroom on my bed when I felt a dip in the bed right next to me. I could feel coldness next to me and I could even see a depression in the mattress. It was creepy but to make it even creepier - my son started waving his hand and google talking to whatever it was that was next to us. He was smiling and being really cute with whomever was there. If we had to have a ghost - I'm happy that he liked children. This occurrence become a part of this routine. Speaking of liking children - our ghost became very protective of my daughter as time went on. He seemed to like to take part in time spent with her and her friends. While they were hanging out in her bedroom, her friends - 1 or more of them, would feel a tap on their shoulder, a cold rush of wind go by them, witness her lights blink or go off and other small things that they would try to brush off - for the most part. My daughter would laugh at them and just say - don't worry, it's just our ghost. Some would laugh and others would get freaked out. I really love music and when I clean the house or just want to have some fun - my go to is music. I love to turn it up and jam while cleaning or doing mostly anything! Apparently Phillip loved music too. It started with my daily housework. I had my favorite CD of music playing and it was something I listened to often. My stereo started to pick and choose songs on its own. I would hear a break in the music - a longer pause then usual before the next song would play, only it wasn't the next song - it was 3 songs down the line or maybe even the first one on the CD. Sometimes the same song would play over again or in the middle of a song - the music would stop and I'd hear the changer pick a new CD and then it would play. None of this was due to settings on the stereo system, and there was nothing wrong with my system. It got to the point where I would have to 'share' the music we listened to so he would stop changing music on me. One night while we were all sleeping - we were abruptly woken up by the sound of blasting music coming from my stereo. That was a very bad way to get woken up from a sound sleep. I had to lay down a few firm house rules for our ghost guest. I am grateful that he was easy to get along with but he did prove to have a fun sense of humor - maybe not in the middle of the night though. Moving forward a little - Phillip made his presence known to us every single day but not always in big ways - most of the time. We started to become used to him and realized that he was not a harmful entity at all. He just wanted to belong - he wanted a family of his own and we were it. My husband at the time was still pretty oblivious to Phillip and when things happened that were obvious - he was in total denial. I had another baby - a sweet little girl and with her - our family was complete. Phillip also liked to hang out with her and try to comfort her when needed. When she would cry - you could always feel very cold spots and then you could see one of her baby toys moving or the mobile over her crib would start playing. She would laugh and smile at our invisible family member. One evening after dinner, I was cleaning up the kitchen, standing at the sink and my oldest daughter and my son were rolling a ball around just laughing and having fun. I had some music on but not too loud. Everything was perfectly fine and then I heard both of my kids yelling to me from the hallway which was right off the kitchen. They were yelling, "Mommy, hurry - come quick - OMG hurry!!" Well I dropped everything I was doing and ran into the hallway when I just stopped in my tracks and stared... To be continued...
